This collection contains the papers of Liston B. Ramsey. Papers in this collection are related to Ramsey's years in the North Carolina House of Representatives, 1960–1999, and his tenure as Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives, 1981-1988. Also included are some letters between Ramsey and his fellow government officials; a small amount of family correspondence; speeches made during his tenure in the North Carolina House of Representatives; some photographs of Ramsey, both personal and professional; scrapbooks with clippings about Ramsey and his political career; and awards and plaques given to Ramsey by various individuals and organizations during his time in office.
