ABSTRACT:

This collection consists of the personal papers of James G.K. McClure, Jr. and other family members, as well as organizational records of the Farmers Federation of Western North Carolina, an organization founded by Mr. McClure in 1920 as the Federation of Farmers of Fairview. The collection also includes papers of the Farmers Federation Educational and Development Fund, begun in 1927 as a fundraising branch of the organization.
