"'Influence and legacy: the farmers federation in Madison County, NC': a public humanities project at Mars Hill University."
Article in Appalachian Curator, Fall 2020.
Dr. Mannon & Dr. Paar say: "Influence and Legacy" decribes three outcomes that resulted from a Council of Independent Colleges "Humanities Research for the Public Good" grant: 1) a virtual farm tour, 2) a set of exhibit panels, and 3) a public (Zoom) presentation. All three outcomes drew upon the James G.K. McClure, Jr. collection in the Southern Appalachian Archives at MHU in order to describe agricultural life in Western North Carolina during the first half of the twentieth century.
